Little Chefs, Big Hearts: A Culinary Journey for a Cause

Local middle school kids, armed with spatulas and recipes, and ready to showcase their cooking talents. Picture that as we tell you all about Trim Hunger’s 2018  “Little Chef Charitable Cook-Off,” back for its second year.

Four junior chefs were paired up with professional chefs at four area restaurants. They worked together to serve the unique recipe created by the student. The response was overwhelming with each night selling out. Proceeds from this particular Trim Hunger project will go toward a gardening program in the the Hortonville-Greenville School District and to support youth who stand for farm to table food, healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle.

Each student at each venue received scholarship of $500.

Participating restaurants included Fox River Brewing Company, Stone Arch at Riverview Gardens, Gingerootz, and Jaripeo Mexican Grill. Simple Simon Bakery provided dessert courses for each venue.
